Uses of Lumigan 0.01 Eye Drop

Eye Drops Lumigan 0.01% are primarily used to reduce high pressure inside the eyes and are commonly prescribed for conditions like Glaucoma. Common uses include:

• Treatment of Open-Angle Glaucoma
• Management of Ocular Hypertension (increased eye pressure without optic nerve damage)

By lowering elevated intraocular pressure and improving fluid drainage from the eyes, Lumigan helps preserve vision and reduces the risk of damage to the optic nerve.

How Lumigan 0.01 Works

Lumigan 0.01 Eye Drop lowers eye pressure by increasing fluid outflow, protecting the optic nerve and preventing vision loss.

Side Effects Lumigan 0.01% Eye Drop

Common:

• Redness or irritation in the eye
• Itchy or dry eyes
• Blurred vision (temporary)
• Darkening of eyelashes or eyelid skin
• Eyelash growth

Rare but Serious:

• Eye pain or inflammation
• Changes in vision
• Swelling around the eyes
• Signs of allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling)

How to Use Lumigan 0.01% Eye Drop

Recommended Dosage:

• 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening, or as orderd by your doctor.

Administration Steps:

1. Wash hands thoroughly.
2. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a pocket.
3. Place one drop in the pocket without touching the dropper tip to your eye or skin.
4. Close your eye gently and apply pressure to the inner corner for 1 minute.
5. Wipe away excess liquid.

Note: Remove contact lenses before use and wait 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Drug Interactions

Although systemic absorption is low, Lumigan can interact with:

• Other IOP-lowering medications
• Latanoprost or Travoprost (avoid using together unless advised)
• Steroid eye drops (may affect pressure regulation)

Always inform your doctor of all medications you are using, including eye drops, pills, or supplements.

Use During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

• Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed.
• It is not recommended during breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.

Warnings and Precautions

• Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F)
• Protect from light and moisture
• Keep the bottle tightly closed
• Keep out of reach of children
